Aquaveo Verification Repository

File Formats

In order to ensure uniformity of the submitted files, guidelines for uploading files will be outlined. Submitted case studies should follow the format described here.

All files should be added to a zip archive (*.zip) before being submitted. The upload utility assumes this, and problems will occur when downloading the files if the files are not submitted as a zip archive.

Required Files

Each case study should have the following files within the zip archive:

  • Bathymetry/Topography - This should be in a commonly accepted format (i.e. *.xyz, *.pnts, *.tin, *.dem, XMDF)
  • Boundary conditions - This should be stored in an easy to recognize format. Information about location and values for boundary conditions should be clearly stated. As boundary conditions may be applied to various models it is recommended to specify the data in a generic format.
  • Calibration data - This should be in a format that specifies location and observed values.
  • Other necessary files - This is the catch all category. As different model types require different inputs, it is difficult to specify all requirements. There should be enough information to be able to recreate the case study.
  • Description document - This document should be either a Microsoft Word or text file and should provide a brief description of each of the contained files. This is where coordinate systems and units should be specified, if necessary.

These files should be contained in the root directory of the archive. Additional files such as aerial photographs and topographic maps may also be included. These should also be described in the "description document".

Model Files

If you have already setup and run a numeric model you may include these files in the archive. These should be placed in a subdirectory with the name of the model. You should write a brief description of the model setup and include that in the subdirectory.
